Somewhere off the Caribbean near Negril, Jamaica, sometime in March of 2007, wind picked up a specific pace one night, 2 days after a wedding, It was brief and the camera went click. The remaining days in the Caribbean were straight out of a dream, perfect weather & no abstinence. Clear blue water, tempura pineapple, and an advance copy of ‘sky blue sky,’ particularly the title song itself, helped offset the 68 times we heard “No Woman No Cry.” Nothing was the same on our return to O’Hare. We stepped off a plane and into a tornado. I found the center wondering when to run and when to hold still, breathe– sing me a melody Neko? Close your eyes, that was all a dream. But this? This tornado loves me.
