About the Print:

This photo was taken about a year ago on a family outing with my daughter Lilly (5 years old). I’ve always loved the photo because it conveys her spirit and spunk. Since she was diagnosed with Type I Diabetes this photo speaks to me in an even more poignant way. It reminds me that no matter what conflicts and complications this disease may bring, we will face it with our heads held high, hands on our hips and a little bit of sass. I have been humbled and amazed at my daughter’s ability to adapt and her courage to accept her new circumstances. She and every other child who has to live with this disease are my personal Super Heroes.
