About the Print:

I find my inspiration in the grandiose scenery and the tiny details of nature. Since my days as a little snowbird I was awed by the growing, changing, adaptive creation around me. My enjoyment of birds has crossed over into my adulthood and here it has expanded and intensified as I count and sketch the bird species who visit my feeders.

The Mountain Chickadee is one my most frequent visitors. These birds take turns feeding, each plucking an individual seed from the tray, then carrying it to a nearby perch to crack it open. The chickadee who inspired this painting preferred the tips of icicles as her waiting posts. The combination of the tiny birds and the sparkling icicles in the pines looked to me like a living, chirping winter decoration.
