After converting one of my digital cameras to infrared, I headed to the Auckland Domain Wintergardens to give it a good tryout. Having shot infrared film in the past, the immediacy of this modification won me over effortlessly.
Flowers as well as foliage appear stark white in infrared. These lilies lost their bright pink spots, and some flowers have subtle colors which don’t correspond to what you see in visible light. The camera’s LCD screen becomes a little window into an alternate world.
