Bokeh Array
by Dave Shea
Bokeh Array is a generated artwork, as well as a happy accident.
By generated art, I mean a computer did most of the work here. For my part all I had to do was get out of the way after flipping some switches and pressing some buttons.
By happy accident, I mean I was trying to do something else entirely when I stumbled across this particular pattern while exploring various 2D and 3D render patterns with the Processing graphics language. I liked it enough to run it over and over, with different color schemes and different configurations each time. Some were fantastic, some were hideous, all were interesting.
In the end I couldn’t settle on just one print, so we did something a little different. This limited edition is actually a set of 100 unique pieces; no two orders will get the same print. So that you’re able to get a taste of what you’ll receive, they all share a common palette; what you see in the preview here on the site is reasonably similar to what you will receive on paper, just not identical.
