I live in Oakland’s Waterfront District, an area filled with industry and old converted warehouses. As a child, my Grandfather, a photographer, gave me a camera. He told me all about f-stops and shutter speeds, and the wonders of film. We went on daytrips to Yosemite and other scenic spots, and together we made prints in his color darkroom. I love to photograph old signs, cars, and worn-out places, and then research what they may have been like in their heyday. I enjoy working with color as a way of taking ordinary scenes just a bit beyond our everyday view. I hope that this color-play can lend overlooked objects and buildings a new sense of beauty, so they can be appreciated by a new audience.
My work can be found in various Bay Area boutiques and galleries, as well as my online portfolio and shop.
