Dale Nigel Goble

Dale Nigel Goble was born in Edmonton, Alberta in the Spring of 1972 and has loved drawing and painting since a very young age. With a continuing drive and passion to excel in commercial and fine art, Dale has always found himself with a deep desire to prosper with his own creative vision allowing himself greater room for creative self expression.

After winning the prestigious Bank of America Achievement Award for excellence in Art and Design at the young age of 18, and a fortunate lunch with the late Henry Geldzahler arranged by friends Gordon Johnston and Raine Dowell , Goble was more and more convinced that a successful life in art was very much a possibility and set out to develop and refine his talent.

The artwork and illustration of dng has been featured in numerous magazines, newspapers, television, print and digital media both locally and internationally. dng has worked on both private and commercial projects with clients such as, bacardi, heineken music, labatts, hayes, flosport, aritzia, and many others. His artwork appears in private collections internationally and corporate collections across Western Canada.

dng’s personal style is emerging through the desire to find and create beauty and meaning in the commonplace, in the single object and symbolic storytelling, creating a majority of the works combining traditional mediums with new production methods.

“To create a thing of beauty, to inspire and remind oneself and others that beauty is is all around us if only we learn to see.”

Justin VanAlstyne

I have been photographing since I was kid and discovered my dad’s Minolta 35mm. From there I took photography classes in high school, worked a part-time job at a photo store, and later graduated from the Rochester Institute of Technology with a Bachelor’s in Imaging & Photographic Technology. Today, photography resides in every facet of my personal and professional life, especially lately, as I transition to photography as a full-time career. I feel lucky with where I’m at, what I’ve learned, and the talent that I have.

I strive for my photography to evoke a strong feeling or mood that comes from a unique perspective on the world around us. One of my favorite themes is the concept of “past life.” Examining textures, objects, and scenes that have an aura of a forgotten vibrance and life. All of my work exhibits my penchant for bold contrast and color, and an exacting attention to detail and simplicity.
